New GBCA Rating Tool

It’s great to see the direction of Green Star moving forward with the development of the ‘New Buildings’ tool. The Green Building Council of Australia have introduced a wider range of credit categories, as well as raising the bar regarding minimum expectations of a Green Star rated building.

The new tool, due to be introduced in late 2020, aims to align with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) & Greenhouse Gas Emission reduction targets required under The Paris Agreement, to help limit an average global temperature rise of 1.5-2 degrees Celsius, which, if exceeded could lead to catastrophic climate change.
